Aftercare guide

How much does a tattoo cost?

Every tattoo is different, and so is the price. We explain what it depends on and how to get an honest, personal quote.

In short

The essentials in 30 seconds

  • No off the shelf price: every tattoo is different, so we assess each one individually.
  • Size and level of detail have the biggest effect on the work involved.
  • Placement, style and colour influence how long we work.
  • Cheap often ends up expensive when a tattoo has to be corrected later.
  • A personal quote is yours once you send us your idea, placement, size and reference pictures.

We only name a price once we know your idea. Anything else would be guesswork.

Price factors

What the price depends on

In the end one thing matters most: how much time and care your tattoo needs.

Quality

Why a cheap tattoo can end up expensive

You wear a tattoo for life. Saving in the wrong place often only shows years later.

Signs of good work

  • Clean, steady lines and even areas in the work shown, including healed tattoos.
  • Visible hygiene: single use materials, covered surfaces, a tidy workstation.
  • Honest advice, even when that means a design should be larger or different.
  • A design made for you rather than taken from a catalogue.

Reasons to be careful

  • A fixed price over the phone before anyone knows your design and placement.
  • Hardly any questions about placement, size or your skin.
  • No healed work you can look at.
  • Correcting a failed tattoo later, with a cover-up or laser treatment, is usually more work than a good tattoo from the start.

How to get a personal quote

  1. Describe your idea

Tell us in the request form what you have in mind: motif, mood and style. A few sentences are enough.

  2. Give placement and size

Where should the tattoo go and roughly how big? A rough size in centimetres already helps us a lot.

  3. Send reference pictures

Pictures you like quickly show us the direction. For a cover-up we also need a well lit photo of the old tattoo.

  4. Questions and assessment

We reply personally, clear up any questions and give you an honest assessment of price and number of sessions.

  5. Book your appointment

If everything feels right for you, we arrange an appointment. We only tattoo on request and by appointment.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about cost

Why are there no prices on the website?

Because two tattoos of the same size can involve very different amounts of work. A flat price would simply be wrong for many designs. With your details we can give you an honest, personal quote.

Is a small tattoo always cheap?

Small tattoos are usually quicker to do. But even a small design needs a drawing, preparation, sterile single use materials and a clean workstation. So the difference to a slightly larger design is often smaller than people expect.

Does colour cost more than black?

Not automatically. Time is what counts: large colour areas and soft transitions usually take longer than plain lines. The same is true for detailed shading in black and grey.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on size, style, placement and your skin. For large designs we plan several appointments with breaks for healing in between. You get an estimate together with your quote.

Does a tattoo need a touch-up?

Sometimes individual areas heal unevenly, for example because of the skin or the aftercare. Whether a touch-up is needed only shows after healing. How this is handled for your tattoo is something we agree with you beforehand.
