Fiumix

Born in Bassano del Grappa in 1967, Fiumix graduated from the art high school in Padua and the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. In 1989 he and Kila opened Fiumix & Quila Tattoo in Cittadella near Padua, where he still works. He took part in the first tattoo conventions in Bologna and then across Europe.

In 1994 Tattoo Revue, the first Italian tattoo magazine, ran an interview with Fiumix and Kila. In 2001 the photo book “Nessuna speranza nessuna paura” documented one of his full body pieces on a single theme, among the first of its kind in Italy. In 2013 he appeared in “Black Tattoo Art 2”.

Drawn to tribal cultures, he looks for Europe’s ancient roots: Celtic and Viking, but above all Venetic and pre-Roman. He draws on Ötzi’s tattoos, Hallstatt culture and Scythian art. He works with a coil machine and handpoke, using the techniques of Europe’s ancient peoples. He guests with us in Schlanders.
